Good morning everyone,

Happy VOM. Hope everyone is doing well. I'm looking forward to hearing everyones submissions!

Here is mine for this month...

A little bit of introspection and orchestration.

The Song of My Life � Christian Carnucci

Verse 1:

Time throws shadows over me.
The years weigh, like chains upon my feet.
The trail behind is getting longer.
The path ahead begins to climb.
The years go by now so much faster, as life goes passing by.
And time knows the song of my life.

Verse 2:

My song betrays, the choices I have made.
Though time it seems remembers every deed.
The barren past now clings like demons.
The futures set, the die is cast.
The tattered threads and all their meanings, they haunt me to the last.
And so it goes, the song of my life.

Verse 3:

Yet here and now, it rises up some how.
By chance or fate, the dark begins to wane.
Another road hints at redemption.
Another chance another fate.
Another verse, a brand new chorus, to salvage all this waste.
As time rewrites the song of my life.

I was sitting in my guitar room one evening just looking around. It's a cozy little room that I get so much enjoyment from. It's a place where I get to fullfill my creative and artistic needs.

Well, the scene around me got my imagination running and this little story popped out. The video just seemed like a good way to give it some life.

While the story is a product of my imagination, the journel is real.

I hope you all like it.

The Songsmith -- Christian Carnucci

Intro:

Verse 1:
Old time guitars,
hung from the walls
A journal lies open at an unfinished song.

Verse 2:
Lines on a page,
weathered from age.
Handwritten words now, beginning to fade.

I thumb through the verses,
penned through the years.

Well, I don't know why but sometimes I write songs in a key I can't sing. (That's just how it sounds in my head.)

Then, I try to transpose them into a key I can sing. Sometimes it works sometimes not. Sometimes, the transposed chords are just to hard to play easily, or I just don't like the way they sound. This song suffered from both! So that means you guys (and gals) have to suffer through the vocals. :) I did my best!

This song also conforms to Chris Baker's new standard VOMM1T. :)

Morning all!

I didn't have much time this month to get something together, so I just vomited this out!

It's Pigs on the Wing, by Pink Floyd. (a couple different ones )

It's as close to a love song as Pink Floyd writes, so I at least tried to stay with the holiday vibe.

I already got through some of the submissions for this month and so far its another great month!

Hey Everyone....Happy 2010,

I didn't have much time to work on something this month, but I was playing around with my new micprophones and recorded this, just incase I needed something for the VOM. I love these mics but I have a lot to learn about home recording. These mics are so hot they pick up everything...breathing, computer noice etc... I managed to EQ out the computer noice but not my breathing. Like I said I have a ton to learn, but this is going to be so much fun!

So for my entry this month it's a little Pink Floyd instrumental cover of 'Is There Anybody Out There'. I played it on my Silvercreek T-170. Hope you all like it, and I 'm lookiing forward to hearing all y'alls stuff!

I wrote this song right after Thanksgiving last month just for the VOM. I really wanted to have something for this month's Christmas Theme. It's not your typical holiday cheer song, but I started noodling around with some chords and this is what fell out.

Sorry the video and sound is so crappy, but I had to use my wife's digital camera (the webcam I like to use kept clipping out). I'm getting some nice mics for Christmas so I'm hoping my next submission will have some better sound quality. The singing wont get any better but you'll be able to hear it clearer! :)

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I can't wait to hear all your submissions!

I wrote this song after a year long medical treatment that damn near killed me. By the time it was over, I was starting to look like Gollum. It wasn't till after the treatment(and I started to feel better) that I realized I wasn't the man I saw in the mirror (even though it was who I saw there for the previous 12 months). Let me tell you it's a very, very odd experience to see a stranger staring back at you. And I realized then, that this was who my wife lived with all that time. So in spirit of the Thanksgiving Holidays and being thankful this submission is dedicated to Veronica! I don't know what I would do without her in my life!

Well another Sunday and here I am VOM1Ting again! :)

In between last month and now I have been going backwards through the old sessions. I'm almost done, but I saved a few sessions to get me through till next month. I must say there is sure alot of talent and creativity in this group. I found myself wondering how long this will continue and how many recordings will get archived here. To think that 10 years from now we could look back at where this began. Pretty cool stuff!

Well my entry for this month is a little ditty I wrote during a rainy spell we had a few weeks ago. The heat finally broke here in Dallas and you could tell Autumn was here. Well the scene out my guitar room window got me to musing and I came up with this months entry. I hope you all like it. And I can't wait to hear all your entry's for this month! Man this is fun! :)

I wrote this song for all the wonderful people who make up the Collin County Music Cooperative and the North Texas Guitar Club. For those of you who have played at a Jam Session, this song should need no explanation....for those who haven't, a Jam Session is where people gather in a circle and take turns leading the group in a song. Anyone is invited and most all instruments are welcome. At our jams we have guitars, bases, fiddles, mandolins, banjos, harmonicas, the occational spoons or auto harp etc... I have learned so much from the group and have made some very special memories. This song is dedicated to all those, with whom I have shared time in the circle.

Oh BTW...The guitar in the video is my new Alvarez MD350. I'm so enamoured with it, I'm afraid my wife will think I'm cheating! :)
