Here's my vom for March. I had a choice of two and went with this one.

Fine and Tender Ladies based on Stefan Grossman arrangement

Decided not to get a better recording thingee. Saving for another guitar instead.

So I changed my mind and decided to record something anyway. Still attempting to change music genres I bought myself a Mel Bay music book on Friday (Best Traditional tunes) and from it put together a version on Buckdancers Choice (the first part anyway) this being short I added on Westcoast blues by Blind Blake to create a melody (I mean medley).

So here we have Westcoast Buckdancers.

Its called 'Doodling in Drop D' (at the moment). Its an original but I'll make no claim for its originality. It came about because of about three activities.

1. Messing about with a drop d lesson.

2. Experimenting using a capo on just 5 strings at the second fret.

3. Inspiration after a discussion on HCAG about Dave Graham. That would be the short sections messing around on the bass line to try and make it sound exotic.

Its played on my trusty Crafter and recorded on a little computer mic thingee. A little clearer but still a little hissy.

So here we have it

Hi

I've decided not to sing this month so I've recorded and instumental instead.

I'm currently trying to expand my musical repitoir (however thats spelt) away from the blues and this is part of that effort.

I was going to post Summertime but I got to playing around with the computer single mic, guitar and harmonica.

I had to use a second track to add the harmonica but each track was one take so I hope I haven't violated the spirit of VOM1T.

So this is a real first (you will be able to tell) first time I've ever used two tracks (ever, ever) first time any one other than the family has heard me play a harmonica (only played the harmonica for about a month) and first time I've played Parchment Farm in public. (Well I only actually put it together last night)

So here it is - (hiss is still and issue as is volume - and timing is shhhhhhh) but I enjoyed playing it.

Guitar is my Crafter TA50
The Harmonica is a Lee Oskar
The voice is my own.

Hi, This is my first VOM.

I recorded this using Audacity, a 99p mic from pound land and my trusty slot headed Crafter.

I appologise for the hiss which is rather pronouced - however it helps hide the voice. (Who says its an ill wind?)

Anyway try to enjoy
